4 Ways to Make Your Car More Comfortable

Many of us spend hundreds of hours in our vehicles each year, whether it be driving too and from work, taking the kids to work, shopping or heading out on fun road trips across the country. In fact, the average Aussie drives no less than 15,530 km each year! It makes sense, then that we all do what we can to make out cars as comfortable as possible, so that out time spent on the road is as enjoyable as it can possibly be.

With that in mind, here are some simple things we can all do to make our cars more comfortable:

Adjust the Driver’s Seat

The driver’s seat is where you will spend most of your time, so it obviously makes sense to start there. Improving the comfort of your driver’s seat could be as simple as moving it back or forward until you find the position that suits you the most. Obviously, you’ll need to ensure that it’s a safe position too. Usually, this means finding the spot that enables you to reach everything comfortably without having to slouch, stretch or be cramped.

If you notice that your butt often feels numb and sore after a long trip, buying a padded seat cover is a simple solution that will increase your comfort. You can do the same for your back if that’s a particular problem too.

Refresh the Air Con

It can get pretty hot and uncomfortable driving in Australia at the best of times, which is why it’s so important that our cars have a working air conditioning unit. If yours isn’t working at its best, it could make for many an uncomfortable journey. Luckily, there are many companies that offer an air conditioning refresh and safety check that will sort out any issues, the  Mercedes Air Conditioning Offer being just one example. Have one such refresh at least once a year and things should run smoothly.

Clear the Clutter

Since we spend so much time in our cars, it is often the case that they come to be filled with clutter. The kids’ toys, that extra jacket we brought along just in case, food wrappers, books – the list is endless. It can make for a pretty unpleasant and overwhelming journey, which is why one of the simplest things you can do to make your car more comfortable is to get rid of the non-essential and install an over-the-seat organizer to keep the stuff you do want to have on hand neat and tidy.

Keep a Cooler

Keeping a cooler in your car is a good way to ensure that you never go hungry or thirsty during your trips. Sure, you could keep a little something in the glove compartment, but cold food is so much more pleasing on a hot and stuffy journey. OPf course when the weather is cooler, having a thermobox that will keep things warm is also a neat idea. It’ll mean that if you get stuck in traffic or poor conditions, you’ll always have something on hand to keep you going.
