Short of carbon freezing, we are all getting older every day. You know this, of course. There may be aches and pains in places you never knew you had, and your reflection in the mirror may not be as flattering as it once was. Reality hits as you realise you are not going to stay young forever, and everyday worries will set in. Not only will you want to care for yourself and your family, but also you may need money to cover other expenses, such as care home fees when you hit your senior years. What should you do about it? Well, if your job is low-paid, you may want to rethink your career plans or take on extra work to add to your savings. You should also think about opening a private pension to top up your government pension. Otherwise, you may be forced into working way past retirement, as so many of our senior citizens do currently.

Look after your skin

Time can be cruel, especially where our looks are concerned. We referred to this in the introduction, and sorry to say it, but the mirror doesn’t lie! Still, there are ways to preserve your youthful complexion for longer. Again, a healthy diet is a must, as is an avoidance of those things that are going to age your face ahead of time. Your looks will fade, but this is a fact of life. Maintain a healthy lifestyle, however, and you will age gracefully.

So, as well as considering the points we have already raised, make the most of every opportunity while you have it, and look for ways to enrich your life. You don’t want to live with regrets, after all. So while you may wrinkle like a prune eventually, you can at least alleviate the worry that you didn’t live life to its utmost while you still had the energy to get around.
