Sold! What To Do When You’ve Had An Offer Accepted On Your House

You have had an offer accepted on your house… great news! You are probably feeling incredibly excited about exchanging the keys and moving onto your new property. However, once the offer has been accepted, there is still a lot of hard work to be done. With that being said, read on to discover what happens once the offer has been accepted.

Offer accepted, now what?

Once you have accepted an offer, you will then be asked to take your property off the market. You don’t need to do this but if you are serious about selling the property to the person whose offer you have accepted, it is good to make sure you do. Otherwise, the buyer may feel like you are going to cut them off and take a different deal, and so they may continue to look for another house themselves.

You should also start moving fast. Make sure you start the process of getting all of the legal work carried out. Also, inform the buyer that if they are having a professional survey completed and such like that you would it to be done as soon as possible.

Putting the wheels in motion: Moving out

You do not only need to concern yourself with the legal side of things but you also need to start thinking about how you are going to move out of the property. This is especially important if you are moving a long distance away or if you have awkward or delicate items that need to be moved.

Look into interstate removalists so you can get the ball rolling. You will need to get quotes from various providers to ensure you are getting a good deal. Make sure you read reviews as well because you do not want to fall victim to a removal firm with a bad reputation.

Aside from this, take the time to get in touch with your bank and any other providers and suppliers you use. You will need to inform them about your change in address and when this is taking place. Moreover, it is a good idea to take advantage of a postal redirect service for your first month or two in a new property. It can take businesses a couple of weeks to update your contact details on their system and you do not want to run the risk of your mail getting in the wrong hands.

As you can see, there are a number of different steps you need to take once an offer has been accepted on your home. You also need to make sure that you start putting the wheels in motion in terms of moving your belongings to your new property and so on. Hopefully, the advice that has been presented in this blog post will help you to take the right course of action.
